Our Story

Shoshone Project started as a response to the pandemic in 2020 when our founders, one who lived in Ketchum and the other in Shoshone, recognized the desperate need of families in Lincoln County communities. That first winter, these two friends raised some funds and gathered warm clothing and supported twelve families in Shoshone. This year, our goal is to support 150 families!

Since 2020, we have grown our board and community of supporters and local partners, and we are now an official nonprofit. We are getting to know some of the passionate, dedicated members of these communities who are doing amazing work.

Shoshone Project identifies local organizations and individuals that are already in place, have connections in their communities, and are doing impactful work, particularly related to food insecurity and youth and education.

Our goal is to listen to the folks working in these communities and support them by raising awareness and support, fundraising, and connecting them with other individuals and organizations that can provide resources and expertise.

Supporting Lincoln County

Our approach is to meet communities where they are instead of telling them where they should be. At the end of the day, we believe that investing in the people and organizations rooted in these communities is the way to have the most significant impact.

We will support the establishment of new facilities and initiatives including the proposed Shoshone Youth/Teen Center, the Lincoln County Pool, Food Pantry expansion and other impactful projects.

“The Shoshone Project has been a wonderful partner to Lincoln County. They have helped a number of organizations in the area - helped raise funds, coordinating and collaborating on programs to benefit the community. Here at Hope for the Hungry, they have stepped up to help us with several projects to repair and improve our facility as well as encourage food donations from Shoshone Project supporters.”
